Description
West Windsor, ON Nice, clean apartment with modern upgrades. Smoke/pet free. On first floor of building (street level, i.e. no stairs to climb). Seeking one roommate, without cats/dogs. Someone that just needs a safe & quiet place to sleep/work. Neighbours are very quiet, but the apartment is at street level next to busy Tecumseh Rd. (on the west end), so there is noise from traffic and passerbys. It gets quieter with the windows closed of course. There is no furniture, so you would need to bring a bed, etc. The biggest thing you should know right away is that this is a one-bedroom apartment. However, the 100 square foot living room is completely empty. This may not sound ideal, but I have had a roommate before, and it worked out fine. I often stay in my room (I work from home), and I don’t have guests over often. You can look at the photos to get an idea, but the layout is… the living room and kitchen are one large room. So, yes, when I go to the kitchen (and come/go from the apartment), I will be passing by your “bedroom” essentially. I am very respectful, and like I said, this has worked out before. One thing that I am open to is figuring out some way to put in a temporary wall or curtain to separate the kitchen from the living room for better privacy. If you feel concerned about your belongings when you are not here, I am completely fine if you have a camera set up. I am a trustworthy, honest person, but I understand that you have no way of knowing that. My bedroom has a lock on it, but it can be opened without a key from the outside, so it’s essentially useless. So, we are just going to have to establish trust for one another. As for the bathroom… the main bathroom I would use only for the tub and shower (and for my portable washer). I have a sink and toilet in my room in the ensuite. You can use the cabinet area in the bathroom, the closet in the entrance of the apartment which is shown in the photo, and there is also some cupboard space available as shown in the photos. There is plenty of space in the fridge for you. I only use the top shelf, and we can share the freezer. As for appliances, there is a fridge, stove, and microwave. The building does have a laundry room with one washer ($2.50) and dryer ($3.00). There is also a relatively new laundromat about a block and half down the road. I have a portable wash machine in my apartment that needs to be setup to drain in the tub. It doesn’t hold a lot of clothes though, but you are welcome to it. You may also use my pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. I have a couple small appliances (blender, toaster mostly). You would be responsible for your own consumables (soap, toiletries, etc.), towels, and so on. The price I am asking for includes bills and high speed internet. I do pay electricity here, so please be mindful of that. You don’t have to commit to any length of time to move in here. What worked in the past was doing $225/week. I am even open to $50/night (and you can use my air mattress if needed). You would pay at the beginning of each day/week/month depending on how you want to do it. If you would like to do monthly, I can do $800/month with first and last. Parking is available on the side street (McKay) without permits. The parking lot is permit only. You may use it at your own risk. I am looking for a roommate because my income fluctuates, and I need that peace of mind. I am a web developer, still working on my “big project”. Rules: - no smoking/vaping anything inside - no parties/gatherings - no IoT or crypto devices on the network Features: - smoke free - pet free - bus stop right out front in both directions (Central 3, with others close by) - secure building (cameras around the perimeter outside, and throughout the hallways) The place is available to be moved in immediately should we both come to a decision that it’s a go. We can pro-rate the cost of course. Questions I will have for you: - Why are you moving? - When are you are ready? - Do you have a lot of things? - What is your desire for having people come over? - How frequently, etc? - Do you have any desires/requirements/preferences? - Are you OK with getting a police clearance if I request one? - Do you have any questions for me? If this sounds good to you, and you would like to come see, have conversations, negotiate, learn each others expectations and preferences, etc. then send me a message. ---- About me: 49 year old male. Quiet. Web developer. Despite how small the place is, you will barely see me. I have children (16 and 14) that sometimes drop by, and I want to continue to make them feel welcome despite having a roommate.
