| Room available in a gentle and cozy Commercial Drive House Hey everyone, My name is Rory, and I am looking for a new roommate for November 1st! My current housemate is moving on, and I'm looking to fill the space. The room is in a two-bedroom top floor suite of a 3 storey house. It’s in a great location on Commercial Drive, literally a few minutes away from Broadway and Commercial Skytrain Station. It’s a 15 minute Skytrain journey to downtown Vancouver. Its also a 5 minute walk from Trout Lake, there is also Safeways Grocery Store a few minutes walk away. The room is rented on a month-to-month basis following RTA rules and regulations The rent is $1185 and a potential tenant would have to sign a tenancy agreement with the landlord. I am currently on the tenancy agreement, and this would be a shared agreement. Bills are not included in the rent but we split them. We have Telus PureFibre 250 (1000GB) which is $74.99 a month, so this would be $37 each (I am open lowering/strengthing this depending on needs). Fortis BC, which is around $50 a month ($25 each), and BC Hydro which is every two months and is approximately $45 ($22 each). The room is unfurnished but the mattress is potentially up for sale. If the mattress is not bought, it will be removed before a new housemate moves in. I'm a 36 year old male (he/him), I have lived in Vancouver for 9 years, I'm originally from the UK. I currently work as an Operations Assistant at a large visual effects and animation studio, 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday. It's an in-person studio role, so if you work remotely/from home, you would have the house to yourself during working hours. I'm a very relaxed, sociable, sensible, clean roommate and person. I like to chat but also enjoy my own space and time etc. My interests include volleyball, gym, hiking, yoga, TV & film, personal development, and seeing friends. I'm looking for someone who is also relaxed and sensible, and appreciates and understands personal space and boundaries. Someone who is clean (but doesn't have to be a perfectionist cleaner, it's a shared house, I get it!). In general, it's a relaxed and gentle vibe in the house. There is a coin washing machine and coin dryer in the basement which is shared with other tenants in the house. There is also storage space in the basement which will be clear for the new tenant. There is parking spot up for grabs at the back of the house subject to a separate application with the landlord. The landlord has mentioned No smoking, no vaping, no illicit drugs and no weapons are permitted in the house or on the property. The security/damage deposit is ½ months rent and is payable upon acceptance of application and completion of tenancy agreement with the landlord. I will be looking to do in person and video interviews. All interested tenants will be required to fill out a rental application with two previous landlord references and also have a video interview with the landlord.
