| Hi! I'm looking for a single person or couple to share a 2 BR suite in a beautiful character building in South Granville starting Oct 1. A little bit about me: I'm a film editor and have lived in Vancouver for 25 years. I enjoy music, film, books, friends, food, biking, and the outdoors. A little bit about who I'm looking for: friendly, considerate, responsible, laidback, roommate(s) to share a home with! If you are looking to land somewhere with common space that is fully furnished and comfortably established while also having the freedom to set up your private bedroom space the way you like it, then this might be the place for you! A little bit about the space: The suite is a gem! About 940 sq feet, a SW corner unit which, because of the apartment's u-shape, has large windows on three (count them three!) sides. It gets a ton of light and on a breezy day being in the living room feels like being outside. The building is located in the heart of the South Granville neighbourhood, closet to great shops, restaurants and the 99 B-line. Close to downtown, Fairview, and Kitsilano. All of the common areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom, entrance) are fully furnished and appointed. Your bedroom is a blank slate for you to furnish as you desire. I plan to take the secondary bedroom and provide the primary bedroom to my roommate(s). It is large! Approximately 120 sq feet with a small closet, and plenty of room for a dresser or two. This bedroom is south-facing onto the back alley. As a film editor, I work from home much of the time. I have an edit suite set up on a semi-detached den off the living room. My work will be audible through the common areas during the day, and I regularly have a given project's director to the home to work for all or part of the day. I try to keep working hours apx 10 am to 6 or 7 pm, but do have the occasional late evening. I am happy to work with headphones outside of these regular working hours, assuming I don't have a client in the home for a deadline. If you also work from home, you may find the primary bedroom to be large enough to set up a workspace. Laundry is in the building and is fob operated. Please note that the building is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible and pets are not permitted. There is no smoking in the building or on the property. If you are a keen cyclist like I am, there is limited bike storage on the main floor of the building. Alternatively, you may be able to install a wall bike mount somewhere in the suite. Rent is $1800 for a single person, or $2260 for a couple. All utilities included, including Telus PureFibre gigabit internet. Your own tenant's insurance is required. One year commitment preferred, followed by month to month. Inclusive, LGBTQ-friendly home!
