| Unique opportunity for shared accommodation in a two bedroom, two bathroom condo in Newcastle (King Ave and Brookhouse Dr.) Our adult son is looking for a roommate who will provide overnight support in exchange for rent. Overnight support would involve giving evening meds prior to bedtime, providing assistance if he has a seizure (about 6/year), and ensuring he wakes and prepares for his day's activities. Looking for 12 hour overnight support ie 8pm-8am. Roommate can do their usual sleep routine during this time - just needs to be available if an unusual situation arises during the night (fire alarm, phone call, power outage etc.) He has activities and support for the other hours of the day. Schedule for nights off etc. will be established with the roommate. He is enjoying living at his condo and is looking forward to having regular overnight support/roommate. He is a quiet, agreeable and happy young man with an intellectual handicap. He cannot live alone but is able to do most things for himself. The purpose of this arrangement goes beyond overnight assistance but looking to foster a positive, natural relationship of warm companionship between the housemate and our son. We appreciate that this arrangement is not for everyone but know that the right person is out there - we just need to find them. In suite laundry, 1 underground parking space, no smoking, no vaping. |
