| Modern Water Access Cottage on picturesque Georgian Bay island. Cottage overlooks a private cove on Sturgeon Bay. 1 hour paddle, 5 minute boat ride from closest Marina. 10 minute boat ride from Pointe Au Baril town dock. Cottage includes: - hydro, running hot and cold water (well intake and septic.) - Kitchen with dishwasher, oven and fridge, and multiple small appliances. - Washer and Dryer - one full bathroom with shower - small sand bottom beach (currently flooded up close to the rocky shoreline due to high water levels), but good bottom for swimming is still there. - Dock for boat and fishing - 1 canoe - 2 kayaks - huge deck with sunset view Gazebo and patio furniture - gas and charcoal BBQ's - Deck Gazebo - LCD TV with blueray/DVD player and a light selection of DVD's for rainy days. - Yamaha digital piano. Access to Georgian Bay, and thousands of acres of crown land. Includes very remote areas accessible only by water. Significant bird watching and hiking opportunities. Access to boating, Historic Lighthouse and scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities on area shipwrecks. Large public beach is available at Sturgeon Bay provincial park, a short boat-ride away. If you want to stay connected, the cellphone reception at the cottage is decent. Cottage is around 1300 square feet, includes big open area up-front with a view of Georgian Bay. There is one bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, bedding is provided, and a loft with a second bed for children to sleep above. Additional mattresses are available if requested for custom sleeping arrangements. There is a drilled well, hydro, full bathroom. It is heated with pellet stove and baseboard heaters for full comfort in the spring and fall. We are renting our own family cottage. The intent is to rent to one immediate family (maximum 2 Adults and 3 children), to allow for a great family vacation. For this reason, no overnight visitors are allowed. Weekend or partial week rentals will be considered in May, June, September, October, and November. During these months, rates are $1250 per week, $700 per weekend For July and August the cottage is only available for full week rentals, Saturday to Saturday, The weekly rate during this time is $1950 Payment is cash, cheque or e-transfer upfront, 30% security deposit is required, fees are non-refundable once booked. Before calling, please note: this cottage is on an island on Georgian Bay, you CANNOT access this cottage by car. It can only be accessed by boat. Guests are to bring their own boat and lifejackets. No boat, no problem. The rental of a 4hp boat is available for an extra $350 per week; or you can use the 9.9 HP boat for $450 per week. no license is required to operate either boat, since rental checklist agreement will be provided. Higher HP Boat rentals are available from several marinas in Pointe Au Baril area. If you have your own boat, there is a free public boat ramp at the Pointe AU Baril town dock, and parking is available at the local marinas or the self storage facility at the Gas Station in Pointe Au Baril. Well trained dogs are welcome, but we cannot accept cats due to the owners very severe cat allergy. |
