| My husband and I unfortunately fell victim of this property. First of all, there is a peculiar toxic smell in the house that never gets fixed(mold, musky smell) I had constant allegies combined with headaches since we moved. When brought up it up landlord only got told to use a scented air freshener. (After many times we complaint) she disclosed information regarding the matter They renovated and made an extension in the house that caused a hollow space in the ground. This perhaps needs to be inspected. The scents we were told to use only masked the smell, we would still have the contaminated air and therefore get sick all the time. Second problem: electric house wires are a joke! The power would go out all the time if you were to use more than one appliance or super annoying and inconvenient!! Their excuse is to only use one appliance at the at a time, what a joke. They never brought in an electrician or a professional. Whenever there was an issue with the home (which was all the time) they chose to try and fix it themselves. However was never fixed (That’s how cheap this people are) another issue: there are rats, and who knows what others animals in the house. You can hear animals scratching on the ceiling 24/7 when mentioned they supposedly came to check( again themselves) not a professional. The issue never got fixed. We were afraid one day one could break through the ceiling. The basement has mice and there’s dead ones all the time. It causes an unbearable smell through out the whole house. This prevents us from being able to use the heater or the AC because smell would come up the vents. Even when those were off. We brought it up AGAIN! And they let us be like that for over a week. Smelling a dead animal!! That is so unsanitary and a health hazard. Such issues cause us to have headaches and severe allergy. I have a baby and you cannot imagine the frustration and worrisome I faced. . We were told not to hang anything on the walls, doors are all squeaky, everything falls apart so easily. Door handles.. etc. there isn’t a plug in the washroom!! During the winter season the house gets very very cold because the heather isn’t working properly. The bathrooms and rooms can’t get any heat. The bathroom specially gets the most cold. Likewise during the summer time except that it get overly hot. The house is poorly built. It isn’t safe to live in this conditions. Specially with a baby. My goal is to help future tenants not to go through what we have been through . Health and safety are definitely an issue in this property. When you come in to see the place, you cannot see all this issues after you are hooked to a lease. Therefore, I advise you to run aways from this property unless you want to face all this issues mentioned above. Feel free to reach out! I can answer more questions. |
