Description
$1100 + utilities (~$90) per month starting Dec 1 for a large private unfurnished bedroom in a 2BR 1BA shared with one queer trans roommate in a sunny low rise rent-controlled building. Located downtown near Carlton & Sherbourne on a quiet side street 250m from TTC in any direction. In-unit laundry, dishwasher, and air-conditioning. Ideal for TMU students/faculty/staff who wish to have their own space in a small, safe, and clean building. No couples or children. Pets can be discussed. Please send me a message via kijiji with: - your name, - some background information, - your source of income, - what your daily routine looks like, - and whether you have a pet. If it seems like you may be a fit we can schedule a preliminary video call/tour. If the ad is up the room is available. DETAILS: Price: $1100 + utilities (~$90), city street parking available, $1300 deposit Location: near Carlton St & Sherbourne St (Cabbagetown) Terms: This is a roommate search to fill an unfurnished room starting May 1 2024. This is NOT a sublet or a lease. You will sign a roommate agreement with me and pay me rent via e-transfer and I will pay the full rent to the landlord and pay the utilities. The total rent amount is $2099.92 of which you pay $1099.96 (50%+$50). You will pay 50% of utilities which are gas (heat/cool), electricity, internet, city sewage+waste, and tenant insurance = $150-200 per month total. I will have a google spreadsheet keeping track of everything so it is all transparent. We will split chores like taking out garbage, cleaning shared areas, etc based on mutual agreement. Required Documents: Proof of income/savings (e.g. letter from employer, pay stubs, student loan, ODSP, etc) and a copy of a government photo ID. You will sign a Roommate Agreement. Myself: My name is Ruth and I am a white queer anarchist socialist agender woman who is disabled and on ODSP. I have been living here for 4 years. I am a former academic librarian (MLIS) looking for a PT job, but currently spend most of my time in the living room at my computer desk or on the couch. My ideal tenant is also neurodivergent, queer, and/or trans. I am also hoping to find someone who is fully vaccinated for covid and cautious about exposure. I prefer not to have guests over too often. There is no smoking in the building but you can smoke outside in the yard. I have a lot of experience with living with strangers and therefore have a lengthy roommate agreement we can talk about so that expectations are clear and up front.
