Description
Hello you ! :D Two of us are leaving our beautiful home soon to set off on new adventures! So, I'm looking for 2 new roommates to share this beautiful space, on Molson Street at the corner of Rosemont. I am looking for a person who likes living in shared accommodation and has some experience, who likes to live in a clean environment and is comfortable in communicating to co-exist well. This for the period July 2024 to the end of June 2025 ideally. Shorter durations can be negotiated. The location and the house We are located between Promenade Masson and Rue Beaubien, so plenty of shops and buses nearby to take you to the different metro lines (Rosemont, Beaubien, D’Iberville, Frontenac, Préfontaine). There are also several Bixi stations within a 2-5 minute walk, and Bellechasse and its beautiful cycle path are at the end of the street! The house is spacious, clean and bright. We have the ground floor and the basement (with garage to store your bike) and we share the backyard with the person who lives upstairs. We also have a small garden that we cultivate in the summer so if you have a green thumb, it’s even better! Desired house atmosphere: We each like to have our privacy and be able to be calm, but also like to share moments together, with openness and respect. Learning to know each other; share moments of deep or informal discussions, good meals, going to the cinema or watching a film together; playing board games if you like that, reading or going about your business, together while sharing space is something that we like to implement in a roommate life! From time to time we organize dinners or movie evenings, among ourselves and/or with friends, nevertheless prioritizing the rest, eating and working functions of the living space, the sound insulation being relatively average (old houses in Montreal). We also have access to a beautiful garden which allows us to host BBQs or brunches in the sun in summer. We all take care of the house together, and everyone takes responsibility for their tasks (assigned monthly) so that things run smoothly between us and to be able to share beautiful moments in a neat living environment that takes care of us ! In short, communicating with kindness is important so that the home is a place of well-being, security and joy for everyone. The rooms: The house is fully equipped and furnished; except the bedrooms (kitchen, washer-dryer, etc.). The rent includes hydro and internet and is $700 per month (approximately, hydro variable). There are therefore two rooms to rent, available for July 1st. They are both quite large (approximately 3.5 m x 3.8 m or 11’5 x 12’5). One, the brightest in the house; has 1 window overlooking the garden. It is not furnished, but there is the possibility of buying the double bed of the person leaving, as well as other belongings (visible in the photo). It includes a small wardrobe in the wall. The other, unfurnished, has a large window overlooking the street, and a ceiling fan. It includes a very large wardrobe with sliding mirror doors. They are both on the ground floor (the other bedroom being in the semi-basement). Your future roommate: I’m Adélaïde, 27 years old, originally from Normandy, France, but very much a “citizen of the world”! I know, it's a bit of a cliché term, but I have a fairly solid 'intercultural' network. I like being able to speak different languages on a daily basis (including English, French, Spanish and a little of Arabic) and a lot of my friends (whom you will eventually see passing by the house) come from various countries, particularly from Latin America and the Middle East (and Canada and France)! I'm not necessarily looking for roommates from France as a priority, so don't hesitate if this home presentation suits you, no matter where you come from! I work (on sustainable food systems) during the week (at the office, 3 days per week on average). The rest of the time, I work from home, study different subjects, draw, write, cook, read, practice a little bit of music (in all cases we will communicate to ensure that my practices do not disturb ), or I go out. I have a fairly active social life in Montreal, attending a lot of conferences, cultural events, and frequenting different social dance circles. I take music and Argentine tango classes. I also dance a bit of blues and occasionally other Latin dances. If you like dancing, I would love to go together! I really have lots of beautiful gangs that I would be happy to share with you if you feel like it! It is also perfectly okay that we each live our lives independently, as long as we take the time, at home, to get to know each other and talk from time to time. I prefer not to just share a house/place of passage but really want to build a home to be shared, a warm and secure space. It is also ideal for me to have people who are open and at least informed about certain societal issues and curious to learn more about other human beings, who are keen to build caring and conscious human relationships, and with acceptance of differences. I love discussing topics related to existential questions, social and environmental justice, geopolitics, philosophy, psychology, literature, movies, music, dance and many other things! I am generally very curious and eager to learn! If this ad interests you, tell me a little about yourself, what motivates you and what you are looking for in a shared accommodation. Short messages like "I'm interested, still available?" will go unanswered, out of respect for my time and yours, write to me only if you really see yourself in this roommate :D Looking forward to reading you!
